An ode to the composer Pierre de la Rue

Amarcord

2018 will be the 500th anniversary of the death of the composer Pierre de la Rue. He worked in Mechelen for Margaret of Austria for many years, so it is only fitting that we pay tribute to this composer in the city whose musical history he helped to write. And we will do so with one of the best vocal ensembles in Germany: Amarcord. The focal point will be the Missa Pascale, the mass that La Rue wrote for Easter Sunday. The main source of this work, incidentally, is still held at Mechelen city library.
