Recital by Reinoud Van Mechelen and Charles Ducal

On the road with Petrarch, Victor Hugo and Charles Ducal

Especially for LUNALIA, the voice in residence Reinoud Van Mechelen has designed a recital with the former ‘national poet’ from 2014 to 2016, Charles Ducal... who just happens to be his old Dutch teacher. The recital is based on the Tre Sonetti di Petrarca by Franz Liszt. The composer dedicated these three songs to the famous tenore di grazia Mario Rubini, the Caruso of his era. Reinoud Van Mechelen follows in his footsteps, engaging in dialogue with Charles Ducal and with work by one of the greatest novelists of all time, Victor Hugo.
