ENSEMBLE IN RESIDENCE LUNALIA 2025: ZEFIRO TORNA
In 2025, Lunalia will take on an extra Mechelen flair, with Zefiro Torna as ensemble in residence. This prominent Mechelen-based music collective, founded in 1996, is known for its innovative concepts. The perfect match for the dream edition of Lunalia.
Zefiro Torna brings the rich musical heritage of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque to life with a selection of outstanding musicians from all across Europe. Their unique approach goes beyond historical interpretations; they create connections with various musical genres and integrate elements of literature, science, philosophy, and contemporary artistic expressions such as visual arts, theatre and dance. This results in haunting performances built around symbolic themes.
During Lunalia, Zefiro Torna will present a number of special projects, including Time Crawls, Somnia, Bach Mirrored, and Balsam. In addition, two muses of the ensemble will also be heard at other concerts: Elly Aerden at Lunalia Lift Off and Els Van Laethem in the context of Coro by George De Decker.
