Moon gazing from the St. Rumbold's Tower

Thank you Moon lovers! Due to the great interest the event is already FULLY BOOKED.

The second edition of LUNALIA, Flanders Festival Mechelen's spring festival, will start soon. To get Mechelen into the mood for this music festival, the Festival will be organising a moon-gazing evening on Thursday 21 March along with the City of Mechelen, RTV and the public observatory URANIA. People of all ages will have the chance to enjoy looking at the full moon through telescopes from St. Rumbold's Tower. The astronomers from URANIA are at hand to provide information. The activity is completely free of charge. Register before 19/3 at mechelen@festival.be!

The name LUNALIA for Flanders Festival Mechelen’s spring festival refers to both to the ‘Maneblussers’, the Mechelen legend of the citizens who tried to extinguish the moon (luna), and to the fascinating universe of the human voice (lia). From 27 April until 12 May 2019, all music lovers can enjoy top-quality concerts at various historic locations in the city, including St. Rumbold's Cathedral, tapestry factory Koninklijke Manufactuur De Wit, Hof van Busleyden and the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.
