EDDY MARIËN

A Carillon in the Garden

When people mention Mechelen, they automatically think of carillons. So the celebrations for 50 years of Flanders Festival in Mechelen wouldn’t be complete without these unusual instruments. City carillon player Eddy Mariën demonstrates the chamber carillon in the pavilion in Sinte-Mette Garden. The pavilion is transparent, which means the instrument can be seen in the garden, effortlessly bringing nature and culture together.
