Rocío Márquez is one of the brightest stars in the flamenco sky of our time. Her albums El Niño and Firmamento have revealed new horizons for traditional flamenco. She also earned a doctorate from the University of Seville with research into vocal techniques in flamenco. This exceptional artist won the Giraldillo Prize for innovation in flamenco with her project ‘Diálogos de viejos y nuevos sones’ that she developed with the famous viol player Fahmi Alqhai. Expect a refreshing combination of flamenco and Spanish baroque music.
