Musical Mosaics from Morocco
Singer and performer Karima el Fillali grew up in the Netherlands, as the daughter of a Dutch mother and a Moroccan father. She has become increasingly fascinated by the spiritual music tradition of Morocco: tarab, tarab al andalus and gnawa. After studying with various masters of Arabic song, she has performed on festival stages in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. She will present a selection from her rich repertoire with the Iraqi musician Jamil al Asadi.
