Era Ora, a saga for two pianos

Alvin Curran & Daan Vandewalle

The composer Alvin Curran and pianist Daan Vandewalle have been making music together for more than twenty years, with works that include their infamous cycle Inner Cities. The composition Era Ora comes in many guises. The title is Italian for ‘It was time’ or ‘At last’ or ‘Let’s get going’. Curran and Vandewalle have used this simple expression to create a world of meanings. As a piano duo, they turn the sounds of their keyboards into the sounds of wolves, ships’ horns or Buddhist temples. In short: power to the imagination.
