Reading Karel Goeyvaerts’ biography is like experiencing 20th century music history from a front-row seat. He was one of the pioneers of serialism, electronic music, minimal music... and then there is his completely unique Aquarius project. Belgium can be proud of this musical scion. The musicians of I Solisti, pianist Jan Michiels and soprano Liesbeth Devos along with musicologist Mark Delaere pay fitting tribute to the composer in a sophisticated portrait concert, exactly one hundred years after Karel Goeyvaerts’ birth.
