The Ratas del Viejo Mundo, the self-declared nest of rats from the realm of early music, are an international collective headed by the lute player Floris De Rycker. He was artist in residence at the digital edition of Lunalia in 2021. In Mechelen, they will present their project on Josquin Baston, a Flemish polyphonist who is more than worth discovering. Baston’s contemporaries also feature in a programme of folksy Renaissance music in Old Dutch and French, motets in Latin and instrumental music.
