“Figurine is the first production in the Figurines series. It will be a music theatre production in which I use Hildegard Von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum as a blueprint for a musical and theatrical portrait of myself and other female artists. I use these elements to spin a universal story of loss, searching, wonder and finding. Charlotte Salomon’s all-encompassing question ‘Life? Or theatre?’ has inspired me to create a theatrical and musical sketch in which audiences may simultaneously see the portrait of a woman, a self-portrait, a portrait of an artist and a portrait of a human being.” (Lieselot De Wilde)
