In this production, Gorges Ocloo reimagines the beauty of classical music for very young children. Using figures, animation and music, audiences of all ages are drawn into the imaginative power of Camille Saint-Saëns’ nineteenth-century classic.
With a gigantic rucksack full of animals, a single father and his son go in search of the one animal that isn’t allowed to join the carnival: the pig. During their musical journey, they discover the beautiful and ugly sides of the world. The chicken takes them to sweatshops, the turtle transports them to higher realms and the swan surprises everyone.
