Lunalia Lift Off: Ludwig’s Canons
Conservatorium van Mechelen
Ludwig van Beethoven left us more than sixty canons. They are the least known aspect of his work, and are often ignored. Often they were scribbled down in letters to his friends. They reveal an unexplored aspect of the composer. At LUNALIA’s request, Mechelen Conservatory got to grips with these miniatures. Anne Adriaensens coached the choir class and Ingeborg Geerts the musical education pupils. Together they will perform pieces including Esel aller Esel, O Tobias, Ars Longa Vita Brevis and Bester Herr Graf.
