Lunalia Lift Off: The Time Between Sleeping and Wakin

Bel Ayre

The programme Entre-temps by the ensemble Bel Ayre is inspired by everything that happens in transitional periods when the focus is on something else. It is also inspired by the ‘dorveille’, a period of wakefulness between two phases of sleep. The term comes from mediaeval literature. The dorveille is the time for all kinds of practices that do not belong in daylight, such as love affairs, robberies, binges and interpretations of dreams. The music takes the listener on a nocturnal journey through an imaginary city.

With Lieselot De Wilde (voice, percussion, barrel organ, texts, composition and arrangements), Peter Verhelst (guitar, barrel organ, shruti box, composition), Jean-Phillipe Poncin (clarinet) and Lode Vercampt (cello).
