Mechelen «-» Byzantium with Gospodi at 5 p.m.
In 1982, the Gospodi ensemble’s voyage of discovery through the music of Slavic Byzantine liturgy began. Gospodi is the vocative form of God in Church Slavonic and means “O Lord”. The four Gospodi singers sing facing each other, with a gap in the centre. This unusual ensemble was unmissable for Blazing Silence, Mechelen’s city theme in 2022-23.
