Spain On Fire
The emergence of the Spanish Empire in the 16th and 17th centuries spread Spain’s cultural richness and diversity beyond its borders, embracing musical traditions in which Christian, Islamic, Jewish and colonial influences came together. Artistic director Fahmi Alqhai combines all these ingredients in a personal recipe. Ornamentations and improvisations are added to the original scores, setting the passion of the original works ablaze in the present day. There’ll be steam coming out of your ears!
