Roots of Juniper
Roots of Juniper is a new, international ensemble of six voices engaged in a radical exploration of the possibilities of the voice. Working with various traditions but adding a decidedly contemporary perspective, they are building on the model of the New York star ensemble Roomful of Teeth. Their secret formula? Combining classical singing techniques and traditional timbres with extensive vocal experiments. Founded by the Sofía Chacón at Antwerp Conservatory, the group exemplify a fresh, new generation of creators who aim to bring together heritage and innovation in compositions of their own.
