House of Wu Fei
The Chinese guzheng player Wu Fei is inspired by the tides. Guided by the waves and Chinese poetry, she has written a song of ebb, flow and dreamtime. Wu Fei is classically trained, but she has chosen a varied career that includes impro and folk as well as classical Chinese music. She released her solo album Yuan on John Zorn’s Tzadik label and worked with Fred Frith on Distant Youth. For Tides and Time she is accompanied by the musical world traveller Dijf Sanders, the omnipresent drummer Simon Segers (De Beren Gieren, Black Flower and more) and the prodigiously talented Louise van den Heuvel (Sonic Hug, Dishwasher) on the bass guitar.
