Villanella Choirs
Purity, authenticity and the experience of music: that is what the Villanella Choirs stand for. At Lunalia Lift Off, they will have carte blanche in St. Rumbold’s Cathedral. Led by An Alen and Laure Sannen, the children’s choir, teen choir and youth choir tackle compositions related to the festival’s motto, Sweet Dreams. These include Sterren by Kurt Bikkembergs and Als Ik Droom by Jan Coeck. Karl Jenkins’ famous Adiemus is also on the programme, along with Tantum Ego by Flor Peeters, who was the organist of Mechelen Cathedral for many years. The Villanella Choirs promise to fill the cathedral with joy.
With: the Villanella Children’s Choir led by Laure Sannen, the Villanella Teen Choir and Youth Choir led by An Alen. Kurt Hollants (piano), Nils Hellemans (organ), Saar Van Bergen (violin), Door Van Bergen (solo singer), Marina Smolders (voice coach).
