Casco Phil & The Vlaams Radiokoor

Casco Phil and the Vlaams Radiokoor prove that music brings people together. The focus of their programme is a new work by Pēteris Vasks: Veni Creator Spiritus. Vasks composed this piece at Casco Phil’s request. It expresses the themes of Pentecost. The famous story of the Apostles with tongues of fire resting upon them is linked here to the age-old tradition of composers who sing the praises of the spirit of inspiration itself. The programme is completed with Pergolesi’s moving Stabat Mater and Arvo Pärt’s iconic Fratres. Each of these pieces uses minimal material to evoke a maximum of inner depth. Small flames that feed an immense blaze.
